The 2025 Oscars is the 7th Academy Awards to highlight exceptional achievements in cinema, with Emilia Pérez taking the lead with 13 nominations. Notably, Karla Sofía Gascón made history as the first openly transgender actor to receive an Oscar nomination, recognized in the Best Actress category. The ceremony will air on March 2 from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Initially set for announcement on January 17, the nominations were postponed due to severe wildfires in Los Angeles earlier that month. The Academy extended the voting period and delayed the reveal to accommodate the circumstances.
