750 doctors appointed in Odisha | Bhubaneswar News

BHUBANESWAR: The state government has appointed 750 doctors in different hospitals including primary health centres (PHC) and community health centres (CHC) on the recommendation of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).
They are appointed as medical officers in the rank of group-A (junior) of the Odisha Medical and Health Services Cadre under the health and family welfare department. The appointments are purely temporary and terminable at any time without prior notice and without assigning any reason thereof, said the official sources.
After getting approval from chief minister Naveen Patnaik, places of posting of the newly appointed doctors have been finalised through online counselling. Naveen has congratulated them. Recruitment letters have been given to these doctors on Thursday. They were also told to join their place of posting within seven days. The doctors can use their appointment letter as pass while travelling to their workplace for joining.
“The appointees who will fail to produce required original certificates according to the OPSC advertisement before the concerned chief district medical and public health officers and in the event of any forged document comes to the notice of verifying authority, their appointment orders will stand terminated,” said the health and family welfare department notification issued on Thursday.
The appointees who have not passed Odia up to ME School standard, they shall be allowed to pass the said examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha within four years of joining in the service failing which no further increment shall be sanctioned and no promotion to the rank of group-A (senior branch) will be made.
The medical officers while working in the periphery service in case selected for PG study or any higher study or for undergoing senior or junior residentship/tutorship in future through the counselling will not be relieved by the concerned CDM and PHO to join the course without obtaining prior permission of the government.
