E-commerce giant Amazon has announced a new offer — Youth Offer on Amazon Prime — to bring more Prime members. However, with this offer the company is targeting those between the age of 18-24.
Youth Offer on Amazon Prime: How to avail
Through this offer, Amazon is offering both annual and quarterly Prime membership at an effective price of Rs 499 and Rs 164 respectively.
Those between the age of 18-24 years will have to sign up for the Prime membership by paying Rs 999 or Rs 329 first. Then, they will have to verify their age by uploading 1 ID proof, which could be Aadhaar Card, Pan Card, Voter ID Card, Driver’s License along with one selfie.
Only once the e-commerce giant verifies it, will these Prime members get a cashback (Rs 500 in case of annual membership and 165 in case of quarterly membership) within 48 hours.
The cashback will be added to their Amazon Pay balance account.
Those who sign up for this offer will have a window of 15 days to verify their age to be able to get this cashback.
Youth Offer on Amazon Prime: Who is eligible
As mentioned, this offer is available for Amazon customers between 18-24 years of age. However, that is not the only eligibility criteria.
Besides the age barrier, Amazon also says that this offer can only be availed on the mobile. While Android users will be able to find it on their Amazon app, iOS users will have to take the route of mobile browsers.
Just last month, Amazon discontinued offering monthly Prime membership in India. Now, the e-tailer only offers three-month and annual Prime membership benefits. This was done after the new guidelines issued by the RBI that required implementation of an additional factor of authentication (AFA) for processing recurring online transactions.
