How many times does the CEED exam occur in a year?

The Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is a qualifying examination for admission to Master of Design (MDes) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, and IIITDM Jabalpur, and to Ph.D. programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur. However, qualifying in CEED alone does not guarantee admission to any of these programmes. Admitting institutes may conduct further tests or interviews for the final selection.

CEED exam is being held once a year and the score is valid for one year from the date of declaration of the result.

According to the CEED 2021 notification, the exam had two parts. Part-A had questions related to the following topics: Visualization and spatial ability, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language and creativity, design thinking and problem solving, and observation and design sensitivity. Part-B of CEED 2021 had questions related to the following topics: drawing, creativity, communication skills, and problem identification skills.

Does the CEED score guarantee admission?

A CEED score does not guarantee admission. Admitting Institutes will also verify the eligibility, the category certificates, and other documents along with the CEED score.

What is the validity of the CEED score?


The CEED score is valid for one year from the date of declaration of the result.

Where is the CEED exam held?


According to the 2021 notification, CEED exams were conducted in the following cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, and Visakhapatnam.
