Jha also advised Chidambaram to “spend his energy in trying to save his party (Congress)” as “Bihar is safe in sturdy hands of CM Nitish Kumar.”
Jha’s outbursts on the senior Congress leaders came a day after Chidambaram, while quoting a news channel report, posted a tweet about the alleged poor condition of buildings of the Darbhanga medical college and hospital (DMCH) and also questioned in his tweet, “Has CM Nitish Kumar visited Darbhanga in the 15+ years he has been CM? Does he even know about the condition of the hospital?”
Jha is also the JD(U)’s national general secretary and considered close to CM Nitish Kumar.
Reacting sharply over the former Union finance minister’s tweet, Jha, in a series of tweets, said, “Dear Chidambaram, whatever little doubt people had about your disconnect with the ground, is evident in this statement by you! Illusionary images on TV dictate your political instincts and advisors like you are reasons for decimation of @INCIndia.”
“CM @NitishKumar is a self-made mass leader, and has risen from the ground, unlike your leader, who has inherited a ‘Kursi’ (chair), and whom you idolize so brazenly. Kumar has not only visited Darbhanga but has also brought it on a global aviation map. Heard of Darbhanga airport, and AIIMS?” Jha asked in another tweet from his official handle.

“The DMCH has a state-of-art building where #Covid19 patients are being given the finest treatments. CM Shri @NitishKumar personally monitors all Covid logistics and management, including at the DMCH. I truly wish you had done a bit of homework before trying to exhibit your ugly politics!” Jha pointed out.
“Covid-19 patients of Darbhanga and its adjoining districts are being treated at state-of-art five-floor BSc Nursing College and Hostel, built under the CM’s ‘Saat Nischay’ Yojana. It has 135 beds and ICU has beds with oxygen pipeline and has all modern facilities including for attendants,” Jha said in response to Chidambaram’s allegation about the DMCH.
“The old DMCH is symptomatic of the misdeeds and misrule of many years of the Congress, and then your cohorts, who ruined every bit of Bihar, and gave us the dark age of destruction and apathetic governance. Nitish Kumar inherited a wretched legacy and a ravaged Bihar,” the IPRD minister said.
“People give credit to Shri Nitish Kumar for having turned Bihar around, from that point, and brought it to where it is today. Have you had an opportunity Mr former Finance Minister to examine Bihar’s growth story, her agriculture growth, financial inclusion successes, and much more? — –Even though it looks bleak – sure you’ve analyzed the Congress performance in recent elections – you may spend this energy in trying to save your party the continued embarrassment it is confronted with. Bihar is SAFE in STURDY hands of Nitish Kumar,” Jha asserted.
