Ram Navami date: This year, Ram Navami will be celebrated on April 10, 2022
Ram Navami is celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Ram to King Dasharath and Queen Kausalya in Ayodhya in Treta Yuga. The Ramayana is one of the two great epics of India, and its influence spans centuries. Lord Ram, the central character of this epic tale, is one of the most revered Hindu gods. He is considered the seventh of Lord Vishnu. Every March or April, the country celebrates his birth with a festival called Ram Navami.
Celebrate Ram Navami on April 10 this year. According to the Hindu calendar, this day is Navami Tithi (the ninth day) during the Shukla Paksha (bright phase) of the Hindu month of Chaitra.
Lord Ram was the eldest son of Ayodhya King Dasharath and was born in the “Madhyana” period or noon. This year, Navami Tithi starts on April 10th at 01:23 and ends on April 11th at 03:15. The Ram Navami Madhyahna Muhurat takes place between 10:23 am and 12:53 pm and is the most auspicious time for puja rituals.
Ram Navami Puja begins with chanting a mantra and praying in front of Lord Ram’s idol. After completing the puja, worship God Bhog. Fruits and sweets are also placed in the puja area. People seek blessings for the happiness of family and friends.
To celebrate the occasion, devotees also travel to Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, for the festivities.
