Tamil Nadu Lockdown News: Tamil Nadu lockdown extended till July 19 with a few more relaxations | Chennai News

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Saturday announced extension of the lockdown by one week till 6am on July 19.
The government continues to ban inter-state public and private transport except from Union territory of Puducherry and international air travel except the ones permitted by the Union home ministry. Cinema theatres, bars, swimming pools, all social and political events where public would assemble, entertainment, sports and cultural events, schools and colleges and zoological parks also remain banned.
A maximum of 50 members will be permitted for marriage events, and 20 at funeral/last rites. “All permitted activities will continue in the state, except containment zones. The shops and other activities permitted earlier till 8pm will be allowed till 9pm.,” the chief minister said.
Additional relaxations
Bus transport to Puducherry is allowed.
Competitive examinations for state and Union government jobs following standard operating procedures. The agencies will have to intimate the respective district collectors in advance.
Restaurants, tea shops, bakeries, road-side eateries, sweet and savoury shops will be permitted with the usual conditions and 50% customers at a time till 9pm.
SOPs
The state government also announced standard operating procedures to be followed in all the permitted shops and public gathering places.
Hand sanitizers and dispensers should be compulsorily made available in the entry and customers screened using thermal screening.
Respective managements should ensure the staff and the customers wear masks.
Doors and windows should be kept open in shops with air-conditioning facility to ensure adequate ventilation. Entry should be restricted to maintain social distancing.
Marking should be drawn for the customers to maintain distance when they stand in queue near shops.
