Tamil Nadu lockdown relaxations: Check what’s allowed in your district | Chennai News

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government, which on Sunday extended lockdown in the state till June 28, divided the state into three categories. The government retained existing restrictions in 11 districts in the west and central region. In 23 other districts, it has permitted more services and establishments to operate for extended hours. It announced additional relaxations in Chennai region comprising Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet districts.
Category 1: 11 districts — Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Myladuthurai districts
Category 2: 23 districts – Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Kallakurichi, Kanyakumari, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Perambalur, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Ranipet, Sivaganga, Theni, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, Tuticorin, Trichy, Villupuram, Vellore and Virudhunagar
Category 3: Four districts – Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet districts
Category 1 districts
Existing restrictions and relaxations will continue till June 28, 2021.
Category 2
# Standalone provision and departmental stores, vegetable shops, meat shops and fish stalls can function from 6am to 7pm
# Roadside vendors selling vegetables, fruits and flowers can sell from 6am to 7pm
# Hotels, restaurants and bakeries can operate between 6am to 9pm and provide parcel services only; Food delivery e-commerce services permitted during the time
# Other e-commerce service providers too permitted to operate between 6am to 9pm
# Sweet and savouries shops permitted to remain open from 6am to 9pm
# State government offices providing essential services can operate with 100% employees. Other government offices to function with 50% employees
# Registration offices to function with full strength
# All private offices can function with 33% employees
# Export units and their vendors can operate with 100% workers
# Other industrial units to operate with 33% workers
# Shops selling electrical goods and stationery items can remain open from 9am to 5pm
# Bicycle and two-wheeler repair shops, hardware shops and spare parts stores can function from 9am to 5pm
# Automobile dealerships can remain open from 9am to 5pm
# Optical and footwear shops and consumer durable stores and service centres can remain open from 9am to 5pm
# Pottery and handicrafts units and shops selling them can function from 9amto 5pm
# Electricians, plumbers, motor mechanics and carpenters can offer their services at customer places from 6am to 5pm
# Mobile handsets and accessories stores and shops selling construction materials can remain open from 9am to 5pm
# All types of construction activities are allowed
# Sports training and competitions without spectators permitted from 6am to 5pm
# Theatres can undertake maintenance works one day per week, after obtaining due permission from authorities
# Public can take cabs and autos after obtaining e-passes; only three and two passengers are allowed in cabs and autos other than the drivers
# Housing finance companies, NBFCs MFIs permitted to function with 33% employees
Category 3
# Non-AC buses permitted to run with 50% occupancy and following all Covid norms; Inter-district travel allowed without any restrictions or e-pass in these four districts
# Metro rail services permitted with 50% occupancy
# Public can take cabs and autos without the need for e-registrations; but only three and two passengers allowed in cabs and autos, besides the drivers
# Film and television shootings permitted with a maximum of 100 people; all participants should take Covid test
# Post production works are permitted to be undertaken

# Shops selling electrical goods and stationery items can remain open from 9am to 7pm

# Theatres can undertake maintenance work one day per week, after obtaining due permission from authorities
# Housing finance companies, NBFCs MFIs permitted to function with 50% employees
Wedding
Maximum 50 people are allowed to attend weddings. People from category two and three districts are permitted to travel inter-district to attend weddings after obtaining e-pass.
