NAVI MUMBAI: A 50-year-old woman vegetable seller was killed and another woman pedestrian sustained major injuries in separate incidents after cyclone Tauktae reached Uran in Raigad district on Monday morning.
In the first incident, the deceased woman, Nita Naik, was selling vegetables on the roadside by sitting near the temple in Uran market when the wall of the temple collapsed.
The injured woman who is unidentified has been admitted to NMMC hospital in Vashi.
In another incident, a 35-year-old man, Vishal Naralkar from Airoli, was riding his scooter along the Palm Beach road when a street light pole uprooted due to the gusty wind and fell on him.
The incident took place on Monday early morning near Moraj circle at Sanpada.
