Thane reports 96 Covid-19 cases, two deaths | Thane News


THANE: The Thane Municipal Corporation on Saturday recorded less than 100 new cases of coronavirus.
A total of 96 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the day, taking the caseload of the lake city to 1,34,335.
Two persons succumbed to the virus, with which the death toll climbed to 2,036.
On the other hand, 106 patients were cured and discharged and the total number of recoveries in Thane has now gone up to 1,31,288.
At present, there are 1,011 active cases in the city.
Out of the total cases reported on Saturday, the maximum of 23 was from Majiwada, followed by 17 from Vartak Nagar and 16 from Uthalsar.
The Naupada-Korpi ward saw 11 cases, while eight new cases came up in Kalwa, six in Lokmanya Nagar – Savarkar Nagar ward, four in Wagle and three in Diva.
Seven persons who tested positive were not from Thane jurisdiction and their addresses are yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Thane will continue to follow the Level-3 Unlock restrictions until July 19, the civic body informed.
